Zak and I have been following the Isagenix 30 day program for 28 days now and have both been feeling great. We have lost pounds, a lot of inches and our clothes are fitting so much better. Zak’s parents are going to start the program in a few weeks and we are so excited to have our family get to healthy together. If you are like me, you can use all the support you can get!
Since we have been cleaning up our act, Zak and I have been playing around with some different clean eating recipes…chicken and veggies gets a little old! Requirements for our busy lives and being parents of a toddler are that the food must taste good, it must benefit us nutritionally and it must be relatively quick and EASY! We will start posting the recipes we really love!
This pizza we ate tonight is one of them! The crust is made of quinoa….and that is basically it. It was so filling and it held together when you picked it up. Seriously, it felt like we were cheating!
We followed the recipe by blogger, Simply Quinoa exactly and it turned out perfect (link at the bottom of this post). We topped it with some pesto, local organic ground pork, tomatoes, goat cheese, mushrooms and fresh basil. We sautéed some fresh asparagus for our side. The possibilities are endless. I am totally stuffed…and happy. This is a keeper for sure.
You cook the crust FIRST in a 9inch cake pan and then add the toppings. This is the pizza before we baked it with the toppings on.
And the delicious finished product!
